Question : Web-based RDP

Hi,

(This question may be in the wrong area, but it seemed the most logical to me.)

I travel frequently and have need to RDP into various boxes (Server 2003, XP Pro) from Internet Cafes where I might happen to be - as I dont always have a laptop on me. The majority of these cafe terminals (rightly so too) do not allow me to access MSTSC or such tools on that box, and limit me to a browser only.
Is there any way that I can setup something on a box (even any of the boxes that I support) whereby I can get at an RDP session via a browser? I cannot even assume that the cafe terminal will have MSTSC on it so cannot link back to a local file either.

Anybody done this or know how I can go about it? I've been through the knowledge base on EE and cannot find anything useful to me about this issue.

Cheers,
Greg

Answer : Web-based RDP

You can use the web browser version of remote desktop:
For XP:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/284931
Server 2003:
http://www.petri.co.il/install_remote_desktp_web_connection_on_windows_server_2003.htm

If you wish to have access to multiple PC's /server you will need to set up custom rules on your router such as external port port 4001 is forwarded to machine 1
port 4002 is forwarded to machine 2
etc., then when connecting you connect to Http://domainname:400x
