Question : FTP to multiple locations at the same time
|
|
Is it possible to FTP a file to many locations at once, in parallel?
I expect them to each be websites owned by my company, and better still, I have not yet selected the ISP for this product. So if it will require a particular transgfer technology, I could shop the ISP market for the right ones.
And how about releasing the same web service to multiple locations? Would that just be a matter of FTP'ing certain files?
Also, I would like the transmission secure. Does that mean SSL, or is there some other way?
Is there a different way other than FTP?
thanks, newbieweb

> Is it possible to FTP a file to many locations at once, in parallel?
Yes. You don't have to shop for a specific ISP to support it, it's a pretty basic function.
> And how about releasing the same web service to multiple locations? Would that just be a matter of FTP'ing certain files?
This depends on how a particular web service is built - i.e. what technologies were used.
> Also, I would like the transmission secure. Does that mean SSL, or is there some other way?
There are FTPS and sftp, both secure implementations of FTP.
