Question : Static IP to DHCP Network Conversion

What are the potential problems that could develop when a static IP network is converted to a DHCP network?

Answer : Static IP to DHCP Network Conversion

That is a pretty broad question. You can use both static and DHCP on your network simultaneously. You just need to make sure your DHCP server is configured with all the appropriate options for your environment such as DNS server and default gateway. Also you need to make sure that your DHCP scope does not overlap your static addresses without excluding those addresses on the DHCP server. Otherwise it has no way of knowing what static addresses are in use and will try to lease them to DHCP clients resulting in IP address conflicts.
