Question : Unable to connect to ISA2004 with client utility.

Running ISA2004 on a Windows 2000 sp4 server.

Installed ISA Server Management (using the ISA2004 installation CD) on an XP Pro machine.

When I try to connect to my existing ISA2004 Server, I get this error:

ISA Server Error
A failure occurred.  The task was not activated.
Details:
Error: 0x800706ba
The RPC server is unavailable.

Answer : Unable to connect to ISA2004 with client utility.

I would check the DNS settings first. this may help quoted from http://www.chicagotech.net.

RPC Server is Unavailable
Symptoms: When running Replication, Winlogon, User authentication, enabling trusted relationships, Connecting to domain controllers and trusted domains, you may receive the above error.

Causes: 1. The RPC service may not be started.
2. You are unable to resolve a DNS or NetBIOS name.
3. An RPC channel cannot be established.
