Question : Multiple IP addresses on Win95 - How?

I have a stand alone machine with a modem (dial-up adapter - obtains it's TCP/IP address dynamically for internet) and an unused NIC (currently not installed).  I'm using MS PWS 4.0 and am required to set my IP address and subnet in order to use it as a stand-alone device (won't loopback on 127.0.0.1).  TCP/IP is only bound to the dial-up adapter so I have to keep reconfiguring TCP/IP to a fixed address or obtain it automatically depending on what I want to do - this is kind of a hassle.  If I install the NIC but don't have a network to connect to, and I bind TCP/IP to the NIC with the address that I need for MS PWS 4.0, will this solve my dilema? Is this the way to set more than one IP address on a single machine - an adapter for each address?
