Question : Can't reconnect a network drive in Windows Vista
I'm using Windows Vista and have a server running Windows 2000. I got a new computer running Vista and wanted to connect it to the network. So I created a new account on the server, and I was able to sign on with the Vista computer as the new user. I was able to map to the network drive.
When I first tried to map to the network drive, it would ask me for an id and password, so I typed in the info for the new user account I had created, but it wouldn't give me access even though this new account was an administrator. In order to connect, I needed to go to the "different user name" section and type in the main administrator account information for the server. Why wouldn't it connect using the new account I created?
