Question : Setup of a Linksys Router behind a Cisco 3620 Router providing 2 bonded T1's
|
|
I need help configuring my network. I have a Cisco 3620 router that is providing my internet access via a multilink T1 (2 T1's), 3 Linksys routers ( one WRT54G and 2 WRV54G's), and about 25 devices (servers, workstations, and IP phones). My ISP provided me with 16 public IP addresses, obviously I have more devices than IP addresses. I want to set it up in 3 different networks, hence the 3 linksys routers, otherwise I would've used NAT on the 3620. How do I setup each of the 3 Linksys routers so they can use the internet, and the computers behind them can use the internet. I tried setting up one of them, configuring it with a static IP address, one of the public ones I got from my ISP, but it couldn't communicate with the internet. If anyone could help, it would be very appriciated. The T1 internet is also shared with another company in the building as well, they will be using the WRT54G router. You can also call me at the office at 800-757-5669 x4861 or my cell at 517-242-1800.

You could certainly set them each up with one of the public IP's that you have.
Assuming that your 3620 has a public IP on the Ethernet0/0 interface = 12.34.56.7
3620 12.34.56.7 255.255.255.240 | S W I T C H 12.34.56.8 12.34.56.9 12.34.56.10 | | | WRT54G WRV54G1 WRV54G2 192.168.120.x 192.168.121.x 192.168.122.x
As long as the Linksys routers are set for Gateway mode, and all point their default route to 12.34.56.7 then all should be dandy... You don't necessarily have to have different IP subnets on the inside of the routers, it only makes sense to me. You could just as well have all default 192.168.1.x on every one..the 3620 won't care..
