Question : Permissions on new home network
At home, I have a win xp pro desktop with a wireless router and we just got a new laptop with a wireless card. I can see the drives that I have shared on both computers from both computers, however if i click documents and settings, for example, it says "[folder] is not accesible. Access is denied." Neither of the computers require passwords to login on any of the accounts. Thanks

Answer : Permissions on new home network

Yes, boot to safe mode, and log on as the administrator then go into windows explorer, right click and choose sharing and security this is where you will access the ntfs permissions Note: again, there are certain protected folders you may not be able to give permission to (even going into safe mode), has to do with simplified sharing (which can not be turned off in Home)
