Question : Bluetooth device gets high COM port #

Hi,

When i install a new Bluetooth device in Windows XP, it gets a high COM port (22), this is a problem for the wedge utility for a scanner I use, which can only handle COM ports up to 12.
I looked under COM ports in device manager, but see no lower COM ports in use (other than COM1).
I tried the Comdisable tool, but when I want to disable low COM ports it says "Cannot find the port specified"

How can I assign a lower COM port to this bluetooth device?

Answer : Bluetooth device gets high COM port #

ok even if they in use ignor that status and select whatever com port you want ...BUT be sure that you are not using it with another device (i.e REALY use it with another device) because it may be latched with XP that they are in use so it do auto increament to the com ports numbers available.
