Answer : load ip address on hp laserjet 5n

connect the printer in the active LAN
on the printer screen, look for settings,Network and click ip or TCP/IP....
Enter the ip address, subnet mask and default gateway.... and reset the printer.

now you can ping the printer with the ip address from any workstation in LAN
