Hi Can anyone help me out with the definition of Bandwidth making use of a very simplified analogy that can drive the point home. I still get confused on this issue sometimes.

Think about bandwidth as a trunk which can carry about 1000 kgm of cargo and transport them in one second the more kgm you trunk can carry at a time the more quickly you can finish you job so when we say you bandwidth is 1mbps it means that you can transport 1 mb per second into you wire and when we say that your bandwidth is 2mbps it means that you can transport double the amount of data per second which will double your speed the trunk is simply your wire , and the cargo is your data.
