Question : INTERNET IS NOT CONNECTING IN MY LAPTOP

i have a DELL INSPIRON 1100 LAPTOP. I CANNOT MAKE IT CONNECT TO THE LAN. IT ALWAYS SHOWS "LIMITED OR NO CONNECTIVITY".
WHAT SHOULD I DO?

I AM CURRENTLY TRYING TO PUT UP AN EXTERNAL ETHERNET PC CARD AFTER I FIND THE DRIVER FOR IT.

Answer : INTERNET IS NOT CONNECTING IN MY LAPTOP

There could be many things stopping you from connecting.

1. Did you try a different patch cord?
2. A different port in the switch?
3. Are you running DHCP, is it passing out IPs to other machines?
4. Does everything look ok in device manager (i.e. no yellow ! or red X on your NIC?)
5. The NIC itself could be bad (try that PCMCIA one if you find the drivers)
6. Do the lights light up on the NIC when it's plugged in?
7. Do  the link light illuminate on the switch/hub when the pc is on?
