Question : Using nprint in novell ~ Need to define font/compressed

I am on netware using the nprint command to send daily reports to printers.  Up till now all of these print jobs have been sent to dot matrix that print condensed.  I am now trying to send some of those docs to a inkjet, but the formating is way off.  I need to specify a font or condensed some how.  Thanks in advance!

Answer : Using nprint in novell ~ Need to define font/compressed

I recommend setting the default font on the printer to an Condensed font.

This way, any DOS-level text sent to the printer comes out condensed.  It beats having to set up software to do it.

Unfortunately, the LaserJet 1200 has no LCD/LED front panel to configure it from - which means you are going to have to send command codes (escape sequences) to the printer to use the proper font and pitch.

First, I'd print off a list of internal fonts from the printer - it will also give you the proper commend code sequences to send to the printer to set that font.

Next, I'd simply send those command codes over to the printer.  You may wish to look up what I said earlier in this thread about the Control Sequence.
