Question : 3COM Wireless AP 9150 How to set up Point to Point

Can anyone give me instructions on how to set up two 3COM 9150's?

I have one that will be connected directly to the network via a switch and I need the other access point to be set up in a different building with no network connection.  According to 3COM's documentation (which is horrible), you set both to enable WDS and then enter the MAC address of the AP that you want each to talk to.  For instance on AP1 you give AP2's MAC address on AP2 you give AP1's MAC address.  I still cannot get them to work!  Can someone help?

Answer : 3COM Wireless AP 9150 How to set up Point to Point

You need "WDS+AP" functionality.  I am not familiar with the AP 9150, but the D-LINK professional models have that function, as do most business class APs, and 3rd-party firmwares like DD_WRT.

You also have to match the SSIDs on both units.  Some firmware also have a "JOIN" function where you can find neighboring WDS members and "join" the WDS.
