Answer : red cross on mapped network drive.

here's a tip:

1.) Right click on the mapped drive and click disconnect network drive

2.) In the start menu click run, type in "cmd" and click on ok.  A command prompt will show up

3.) Type "net use G: \\\ /yes".
You can use any letter besides 'G' as long as its not being used on your local computer.
For "server" it should be the name of the computer you are connecting to and "shared" is its folder you are connecting to.
The "/yes"  tells the computer to always reconnect to that object.

I am assuming you do not have to provide a username and password with rights to this drive.
If you do then the command is: "net use G: \\\ /user:\ /yes"
