Question : Copy DNS?
|
|
Hello,
I am working on a medium~large size network where we have 3 domain controllers, DNS is Active Directory Integerated zone, so my question is, is there is anyway to deploy a new DNS server WITHOUT making it another domain controller, and this desired DNS server contains all the records and with exact configuartion of the Active Directory integerated zone DNS Server have?
Thanks in advance,

I think you can configure your new DNS server so that it contains a secondary zone (copy of the AD integrated one). On your AD integ DNS, you specify on the zone forward tab to allow transfers to the IP of the new dns server. On the new DNS server, you create a secondary zone and tell it that the master zone is the IP of the AD-integrated one.
I'll have to double-check that but I believe that works.
