Question : DNS Redirection

First I would like a refresher in Internet DNS. My company (A) has purchased company (B). Company B has 13 domain names it has purchased, some of them point to actual websites and some point to generic Coming Soon web pages supplied by the registrar, and basically company A wants all 13 domain names to point to company A's web site. First, the whole external domain thing is a bit confusing to me. All 13 domain names are registered with Network Solutions; How do I point all of them to Company A's website, what DNS record is required to do this and would someone please explain to me the hierarchy of who is the DNS Authority for a domain. I was under the impression it was always the registrar?

Answer : DNS Redirection

go to Network Solution using company B's ID and update the ownership records
then at the same place you can point those domain names to Company A's IP addresses
it is all done using Network Solution's infrastructure. you just have to tell them what you want to do
the only thing to check with them is if there are any registration processes involving mergers
