Question : Network goes down at about 16.00 hours every day...

Hello i have a network that goes down at 16.00 hours every day..
THere are about 30 computers on the network, and running w2003 sbs server...
The network or server... Makes accessing files on the server impossible.... Their coputers hangs..
but they can surf the web.. If they reboot their computers and logs on again it works again...

The hardware of the server is old and we are thinking of replacing it but we have to find out
what is causing this... If it is the wireing replacing the server wont do any good..

Software we can use to log and so on

Any input..?

Thanks in advance..

Check your scheduled tasks on that server..  Also, you might want to ck the network traffic at that time of day, perhaps using Ethereal to capture all traffic to and from the server..  This may tell you something useful...

Also, are all your networking components (routers, switches, and server) on an UPS?   Without one, current spikes could cause untold interruptions in your network..
