Question : reading/writing phone's contact list in wap
|
|
Hello,
We have a WAP 2.0 application. What we are trying to do is save the user's phone contact list so as to be able to synchronize if they lost their phone. It would be great if the synchronization can be both ways.
We are looking to develop or even buy 3rd party.

You can use WTAI, to access the phonebook from WAP applications. Not every phone supports it, but surprisingly many do! Search for WTAI - and ask here if you need help with it.
The problem you present, address book synchronization, will not have an ideal WAP 2.0 solution. Too much logic is needed on the client side to correctly sync addressbooks. A J2ME client is one way, but many phones already come with a SyncML native client for syncronization. Look at www.gsmsync.net or www.goosync.com (premium) - they may be what you need, and most phones support SyncML (Nokia, Motorola, Samsung).
Regards, Ran.
