Question : Removing System Policies from a Win95 Workstation
|
|
System Policy editor was used to setup system policies, using auto-download feature to update workstations attached to a NetWare server. It is now desired to remove the policies from the system, but PolEdit refuses to run properly. Can policies be disabled manually in any way, given that administrative access to the NetWare file server is available?

Right.. First check that poledit is installed on your computer. You can install it in add remove program's/windows setup/have disk
And the path is x:\admin\apptools\poledit then click ok and install group and the system polciy editor.
If you have installed the poledit program then read on...
There are now a few options available to you, Run poledit and open the file on your server probably. \\servername\netlogon\config.pol or whatever the .pol file is.. Then move all ppl in the lets say the public group in to Domain Users in the server's user manager .. and now set this as the users primary group.. Then delete the public group from the config.pol file. Another choice is to run poledit.. Go New file and then save this file as config.pol in you'r server..
Hope this helps.. Shaneo
