Question : Does my laptop have bluetooth?

This is a Compaq V2000. I always assumed my laptop has bluetooth, as there is a 'My Bluetooth Places' icon in my desktop, (and under My Computer). Now I have a bluetooth phone, I want to transfer some files from my pc to my phone. But if I double click on the bluetooth icon, I get this error message - "Bluetooth device not found. Please verify your bluetooth device is properly connected and turned on". I reinstalled the 'bluetooth by hp' driver software that came with the laptop driver cd, and restarted the pc. That didn't help. If I open the device manager, I don't see any item that says 'bluetooth'.
