Question : How to update Wsus!

I have 2 sites on a single domain connected over a wan,wsus is already installed on one and working fine and connects to update server
i want to install a second wsus server on the remote site so that the 2 wsus servers can sync at night and keep traffic down on wan in the day
if i install the second wsus server ,it will update from the server upstream and copy all the updates over the wan.i want to keep traffic over the wan to minimim
I know you can update wsus with a cd with the updates on ...can i just copy the folder withe updates in to a cd and copy it onto the new wsus server?
