Question : Connecting to a VPN disconnects my wireless network
|
|
Hi,
Every time I log onto my university VPN from my wireless network at home I get disconnected from my wireless network after a minute or two. Then when I refresh the list of wireless networks, mine is not present and it stays that way until I switch my wireless adapter off and on again, after which I can reconnect to my wireless network.
The wireless is a 192.168.xxx.xxx address and the VPN is 10.2.xxx.xxx address so it's not an IP conflict. I have updated the firmware on the Netopia router and my wireless adapter's drivers to no avail.
Any ideas would be appreciated. -Frank

Signal quality will definitely affect a VPN connection. Try using a different channel to minimize interference.
And, If possible only allow G radios as the access point / repeater will only function at the slower speed if B is allowed, and B can interfere with G.
