Question : Is it better to use my Dell wireless router or the DSL modem wireless router?

I have been using a Truemobile, dell wireless router, but had to replace a DSL modem yesterday and it comes with wireless capabilities - which is better to use?  Also, should I use the WEP or WPA security?

It is better to use the router, since it likely has a firewall built into it.
But, WPA is better than WEP, so which device provides which one?
WEP is crackable with publicly available tools - I've never done it, but there has been a lot of press to that effect.
WPA is more secure, never cracked as far as I know.
