Question : IPP Printing Over Wan To Print Server
Hi,
I am tring to configure in Windows XP Pro, to print to a printer over the internet (wan) i have setup TCP Port Forward on the router at the other end ( Port 631 forwarded to the Print Servers IP Address 192.168.1.120)
On the machine i wish to print from i am entering the following under the URL Option
http://mystaticip/printser
ver
name
everytime i am entering that, windows is spitting the dummy out, so i am assuming this is where i am going wrong?>? any help much appreciated
Answer : IPP Printing Over Wan To Print Server
Unless you've change the name of the virtual directory for printing the address should look like
http://mystaticIP/printers
To test that the website is working properly, try opening
http://localhost/printers
in a browser on the printserver itself and let me know if it works. If that works then we can rule out an error on the print server itself.
You will need to forward port 80 to the print server's internal IP address to make the web site accessible to the other host.
