Question : Logon Failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

Hello.

I have a small home network consisting of two computers.  One has XP home and the other has XP pro.  Whever I go to windows explorer and click on My Network Places --> Entire Network --> Microsoft Windows Network --> Home (the name of my network) --> [Computer Name], I get the following error message:

\\Delta is not accessible.  You might not have permission to use this network resource.  Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

"Delta" is the name of the XP home computer.  Xp home cannot access XP pro, and vice-versa.  Guest accounts are enabled on both computers.

What must I do to solve this frustrating problem?

Thanks!!

Answer : Logon Failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

HI DavidMig
srw134 is right make a share on either systems and see if you can access it from your systems' my computer and writing '\\computername\sharename'.  In addition: please tell us/do.
1-what filing systems you are using on both systems.  NTFS is secured and will require you to add the username under share security tab.
2-Make two new users 'assign them administrative rights.  Log off then log back on with those accounts.  Check if you can see both computers.  Also make sure that you under the 'security tab' of that share under properties you add the user to access it from other system.
3-The last thing which you could check (though its not of significance) is your Domain name or Workgroup name should be same on both systems.
Hope that helps
Thanks
