Question : Setting up DHCP relay on cisco routers
|
|
Hi there,
We are going to remove the windows NT4 servers from several sublocations and want the users on these locations to get their IP address and login to the windows 2k servers at our headquarters. Is there a writing somewere how to configure the routers and / or servers for this? We are using a cisco 3660 router at our headquarters and Cisco 2600 routers at our sublocations. The connection speed between our locations is 2 Mbit.
If more info is needed, please let me know.
thanks

Keep in mind that he wants to log into the network so the helper address also forwards DNS requests and so on. In most real world scenario's the DHCP server will normally also host WINS and DNS to.
Todo's, the only thing that your going to need to add to your switch then is 1 ACL for the Admin network to allow them to get to the main offices subnet, unless you wish to get anal and allow them access to only the domain controllers and certain machines sharing directories.
