Question : DOS Command to Copy to Network
|
|
I have a system that I've lost the control panel and explorer. I was able to move all of the data to a shared network drive on a server, but two files I was not able to. I know the file path to where the files are, but don't know the dos command to get them to save to the shared drive on the server. The PC is Windows 2000. The server is Windows 2003. The file path on the PC is: C:\Lotus\Notes\Data\Archive\File1 the server is SERVER2, the drive is D and the folder in D is "PUBLIC". Can someone give me the correct command to copy the data to the server and folder "PUBLIC".
Thanks.

Answer : DOS Command to Copy to Network

You need to have permissions to access the path/file. I assumed both systems were on a domain and that you were logged in as a user with appropriate permissions. The command I gave works fine, provided that is true.
