Question : Disconnected Mapped drive
|
|
All of a sudden, some client xp pro machines on my Win2003 server network are showing "Disconnected Network drive" for mapped drives to the server share. When they click on the drive, they are able to open the folders and have full access to the files.
What all of a sudden caused this behavior?

Answer : Disconnected Mapped drive

Fixed my own issue after checking and rechecking settings I realized that the drive works no problem after each and every reboot. So I went to the drive and in starring at it for a bit I tried to rename the M:\ (disconnected mapped drive) as if it were a folder - right click - rename and I erased (disconnected mapped drive) - I typed the name of the share M:\ MLSROOT on DPC-DC and tada!! It worked. Rebooted and tested several user logins. Its fixed! Somehow the name of the drive was changed to disconnected and for some reason it would not change it. I tried every suggestion with no avail.
Thanks for you help but I seemed to conquer this one myself.
