Question : Find IP Address

Hi,

I have a requirement which says " i need to record a Original IP address of the user who uploads the  file by FTP.

Any tool is available ?
Server runs in linux. Any scripting language ?

depending on which flavor of unix....

/var/log/vsftp.log
or
/etc/xferlog
