Question : svchost.exe using 100% of CPU
I'm having an issue with svchost.exe eating up 100% of the cpu. This is happening on every machine on the network. It does this about every hour or so. the services that this process is responsible for are:
Automatic Updates - We run WSUS here - Domain members are set to check in every 15 minutes or so BITS COM+ Computer Browser Cryptographic Services DHCP Client Dist. Link tracking Client Error Reporting Service Help and Support Logical Disk Manager Network Connections NLA Remote Access Connection Manager Secondary Logon Security Center Server Shell Hardware Detection System Event Notification System Restore Service Task Scheduler Telephony Themes Windows Audio Firewall WMI Time Wireless Workstation
Is there a way to narrow down which one of these services is causing the issue? Also once I do find out what's causing it, what steps can I take? I have a sneaking suspicion that Windows update might be the culprit and it's the reporting to the WSUS that is eating the CPU, but it's a total guess. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
