Question : How do I connect two routers (two different networks), so that computer on each can see each other?

I'm new to this.  I have 2 routers (Linksys and Dlink).  I want to setup two different networks, one on each floor, and have connectivity to the internet via my cable modemf from both nets.  I want computers on both networks to be able to see each other.  How should I go about doing this? I can't get much information from Dlink or Linksys.   I 'll tell you what I have setup right now.

1) Cable modem to WAN port on Linksys. 2) Port 1 on Linksys to a hub.  3) Uplink port on hub is connected to the WAN port on my DLink (via a straight through cable).

The Network config of each router.    Linksys- IP: 192.168.0.1  Subnet: 255.255.255.0  DG: 198.168.0.1.    DLink: IP: 192.168.1.x  Subnet: 255.255.255.0 DG: 192.168.1.1.

What I can see:  From computers connected to the second router (Dlink), I can see 1) All computers on both networks.  From the 1st router (Linksys), I can only see computers on the same network.

What am I doing wrong?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

>>2) Port 1 on Linksys to a hub<<

You can't hook hubs/switches/routers to numbered ports on a router. You have
to "add machines" via the uplink port.

2 routers on a LAN is kind of secondary over kill. All you need is one router and
one hub.

Kids comps plug into hub
hub plugs into uplink on router (when uplink port is used usually port #1 becomes disabled)

You get one subnet and one gateway for all. If you want restrictions then filter the
IP within the router config.
