Question : Domain controller cant browse other domain controller

Hello Experts

We have a single domain with two sites setup. The cites are in different cities and each houses a Windows 2003 Server SP2. A wan link connects the two sites. Both DC's are global catalog servers and have Exchange 2003 installed. Each server houses mailboxes only for users from that site. Starting on monday, computers and the server in site B could not access the server in site A. If you try browising using UNC, the following error is generated "Logon failure: The target account name is incorrect" However, when you brose via IP, all seems welln addition, we are seeing the following errors in the even veiwer:

The kerberos client received a KRB_AP_ERR_MODIFIED error from the server host/lskserver.nampakzambia.local.  The target name used was cifs/lskserver.NampakZambia.local. This indicates that the password used to encrypt the kerberos service ticket is different than that on the target server. Commonly, this is due to identically named  machine accounts in the target realm (NAMPAKZAMBIA.LOCAL), and the client realm.   Please contact your system administrator.

DNS seems to be fine, we can ping server A from server B using the hostname and it resolves just fine.

I hope someone can help with this.

Thanks

Answer : Domain controller cant browse other domain controller

Hi Laserspot and henjoh09,

Unfortunately, we ran out of time and could not follow through with the suggestions. So we went ahead and re-installed both servers, which were fine at first, but we now have a failure to mount the information store on the second server. However, I will post that as a new question. Thanks for the effort on this one.
