Question : Having problems upgrading Cisco Call Manager to 4.1.3

Hello Experts, I am pretty new to VoIP and I have been tasked to patch our Cisco Call Managers that are currently running 4.1.2 to 4.1.3  Under Administrator privilleges, I attempt to install the 4.1.3 patch which is labeled CiscoCM-ffu.4.1.3.exe and when I attempt to install it I get a "Failure occured when installing Cisco Directory Installation" and it aborts the installation. I tried disabling the antivirus that is running on the server and that had no effect either. It seems like it could be permissions of somekind, but I am not very experienced with this and would like to learn how to get the installation to take. I have attached the log file from when I attempted the installation. If there is anything else that I can provide to isolate the issue please let me know. Thank you for your assistance

Answer : Having problems upgrading Cisco Call Manager to 4.1.3

Hello Fletch3-

There are many dependencies in a typical voice deployment and they can cause a host of problems in an ungrade, I would make sure I had a good backup, turn off CSA and then follow the upgrade Docs.

For those you want to use the Cisco document "Upgrading Cisco CallManager Release 4.1(3)" it goes through step by step what you need to do to have a successful upgrade. The document can be found here: http://www.ciscosystems.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/upgrade/4_1_3/upg413.html additional information can be found with the Cisco CallManager Documentation Guide for Release 4.1(3) found http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/docguide/4_1/dg413.html.

hope this helps,
