Question : New names placed in Lotus Notes groups not working on ACL's

Hi, we are running a Domino 5.12 environment.  I have recently taken over administrative duties and have noticed a problem with Domino not seeing new people put into groups.  For example, to give someone access to create notes id's a group was created and all required settings were given.   But the person can only create the id's if you put the name directly into the server document for create databases, it will not see the name in a group.  Also, if you create a database, say a mail-in.  Notes will only allow access if you put the name directly into the acl, it will not work in a group.  Distribution and existing acl groups do work though...  Any help would be appreciated..

Answer : New names placed in Lotus Notes groups not working on ACL's

What error message do you get ? How is the user type specified in the ACL on databases ? If you provide access via a group document, and set the access type to "Person" then - even though a user is a member of the group - access will not be granted.

The error message might give some further insight to where the problem lies.
