Question : 802.11K & 802.11R - Roaming Wirelessly

I want to implement 3 Wireless Acess Points (not all identical) in our building.

I will set them to have the same SSID, WEP Security and Security Key.

I have read over 802.11r & 802.11k, do most modern Wireless Laptops/PCMCIA cards/USB Dongles support this feature?

So where ever the user takes their Laptop in our building it will roam between wireless acess points? (What ever access point has the strongest signal)

Answer : 802.11K & 802.11R - Roaming Wirelessly

The answer is yes.  As long as the SSID, Security key method and key are the same.  You are implementing something called Wireless Distributed System.  True WDS concept have different ways of implementing it.  You can google it.

The link below is to implement WDS using a popular wireless firmware called ddwrt
