Question : User that needs a static IP address set to use Windows XP remote desktop for logging in to a secure network access page, but this causes IP conflicts on the Network.
I can set the user's IP to a static address and it works well for the remote desktop session. What happens later is that when the user attemps to log into the regular Novell Network at her usual PC workstation, there is an error message that an "IP address conflict has occured and the tree or server cannot be found". I need to keep the user's IP static, so how to I avoid the IP conflict on the Novell Network? I am very new at this...

you have to set an exception in the DHCP scope so the IP they are using is not given away by the DCHP server
