Question : IE7 is not allowing a user to download a .zip file

A user is attempting a download a .zip file from a secure website on Internet Explorer 7, after they click on the link to download the file a page of random text is displayed. The information bar prompting the user to download the file does not appear at the top of IE, and neither does the "open/save" box.

This is affecting two users while another user is able to download the file successfully. All 3 have the same set up with Internet Explorer 7.

Please let me know what other information is needed.

Thanks.

Answer : IE7 is not allowing a user to download a .zip file

The issue was with the image Dell had loaded on our machines. the built-in XP zip file support was disabled by default and we had to enable it by running; regsvr32 %windir%\system32\zipfldr.dll, and registering the dll file. After this was done downloading a .zip file worked as you would expect it to.

Thank you.
