Question : Xp pro machine - goes to windows desktop but no icons or menus

I tried a  system restore to a previous date and that worked for a few hours but customer called me again and same.

It wont work in safe mode F8 - doesnt go to wondows.

I used an Winternals CD to retore it to a prev date.

Poss virus?

I did get an error at one stage on first restore date. (didnt work)  explorer.exe .......... yada yada

worded--It does sound like malware, especially combined with your other post about System Restore being missing.
You should scan with your Antivirus.  Then
