Question : Best practices/advice for hosting multiple websites
I need to know the best way to setup websites that use an isp ip address that translates to an internal ip address without using multiple nics.
Current setup
We have two main websites that are stored on a hyper v server. Each one has their own internal and external ip address that is natted through our sonicwall tz170 enhanced.
I would like to use a nat process to give each additonal website its own ip without installing more network cards.
I would also like a process that would allow me to use one ip for websites in the event I run out of internal ips.
Answer : Best practices/advice for hosting multiple websites
You can assign multiple IPs to one NIC and then in IIS just select the IP address that the site should respond to. To run multiple sites on one IP address you will have to configure host headers
