Question : Transitive Trust Relationships

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to set up a transitive trust between two machines? One is running Windows 2000 server and the other is running Windows 2003 server. I have set up AD in both servers and each have their own  domains setup. They are both connected to a hub/router.

I have set my Windows 2000 server to operate in native mode.

transitive trusts only occur between domains within the same forest

sounds like you have two dc's each with own separate domain - hence completely different forests ie abc.com and xyz.com

transitive trust would be between two domains in same forest ie 123.abc.com and 456.abc.com - with the forest being abc.com

if you want trust between two separate forests you need to set this up in Active Directory Domains and Trusts

Probably best to do this on Win2003 AD DC first
