Question : Norton Antivirus Removal

I'm trying to remove Norton Anti Virus from a few computers.  It's password procted but I don't know the password.
I chaged the password setting in the regestry to clear it and remove it but afterwards it still on the task bar.  It says Norton is disabled....

How can I completely remove Norton and all remains of it without a password or CD?

Thank you.

Answer : Norton Antivirus Removal

Hi,

You can either disable the password completely or use Symantec's NoNav tool to remove all files/folders/registry keys that related to SAV:

1) To remove the password:

Open Regedit, browse to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Intel\LANDesk\VirusProtect6\CurrentVersion\AdministratorOnly\Security\UseVPUninstallPassword

Set UseVPUninstallPassword = 0

Try removing SAV from Add/Remove programs

2) If the above step didn't work, download and run Nonav
