Question : Can not print at home while logged into work via VPN

My computer at home has XP Pro on it.  When I log into the computer at the office (XP Pro), I am unable to print at home.  There is no server in this environment, only a workgroup.  After I connect to the office via VPN, I then RDC into my work computer.  I click start>run and type in the ip address of my home computer and am able to see my printer.  In the past, with Windows 2000 computers, I would just double click on the computer and it would add a driver and then I could print at home through RDC.  XP seems to have some kind of flaw on it and I get the following error when trying this:

Operation could not be completed.  Either the printer name was typed incorrectly or the specified pritner has lost it's connection to the server.  Click Help for more options.

The windows firewalls are turned off on both computers.  I can't find anything about this but know that it is possible.
From the same computer, with a 2000 pro machine I have no problem printing.  It seems to be an XP issue.

Help...
