Question : Detach XP Pro from windows domain but retain user profile

I want to remove a PC from a windows domain and use it on a peer to peer network in another office.

What's the best way to retain the users desktop/profile settings.

The OS is XP Pro.

I'd recommend RWinger's solution, but it's missing one crucial point:
Before you click the "OK" button when copying the profile, click the "Change" button in the "User" section, and allow the new local user to use this profile; this will set the permissions in the registry correctly.
