Question : Need help configuring DNS for my network
Ive been forced to rebuild a few servers without having all the knowledge i need to do so, and without the knowledge of how it was setup.
I seem to be having issues with resolving DNS names from my exchange server, connection issues, and file sharing issues with VPN,
all servers are windows 2003 server
192.168.1.203 - Primary Domain Controller, DNS server, DHCP server, WINS server (but i don't think i even need wins)
192,.168.1.23 - Secondary Domain Controller, Solo Exchange Server (2003), VPN (Routing and remote access), WINS (installed but not running)
192.168.1.24 - File Server, Print Server, DHCP server (installed but disabled)
i have other questions open about the other issues i am seeing, and they all seem to be related to DNS
My goal is to have someone help me configure the DNS server on the .203 properly so everything communicates
- so exchange will properly connect to other domains for sending the mail
- so VPN users can properly access network shares
- so everything can work as if i knew what i was doing lol
appreciate any help
Thanks.
