Question : GLobal Catalog Server Promotion Error

hi
I tried to config a domain controller as global catalog server, I go to active directory site and service, check the server propertie to make it global
catalog server, then I restart the server, run dcdiag,
it says that the server has not finished promoting to be a GC.
check the event log for domains that cannot be replicated
server is not advertising as a global catalog. check the server finished GC promotion.
Please HELP !!!

Answer : GLobal Catalog Server Promotion Error

Go into DNS and determine what DC this is. you will find this entry in
_MSDCS.forest.root
Then open up ADSIEDIT on the DC generating this error.
browse to
cn=configuration,cn=sites,cn=(sitename),cn=server,cn=(enterDCnamehere)
access the properties of this object.
browse to the serverReference attribute.
is it blank or incorrect?
it should have an entry that points to the DCs LDAP DN.
cn=enterDCnamehere,ou=domain
controllers,dc=enterdomainnamehere,dc=enterrootdomainnamehere
