Question : DNS server on XP Workstations keeps changing from DC to my gateway
This one is urgent!!
I have a Windows 2003 Server which houses my DHCP and DNS server. It has been working fine for months. All of a sudden my users can't print, they print directly to the printers via a TCP/IP port, which are configured to look by DNS Name. (Sharp.Corp.XXXXX.com). My DHCP server is supposed to serve up 3 dns entries to the clients
192.168.1.7 (Master AD DNS Server)
192.168.1.8 (Secondary AD DNS Server)
192.168.1.1 (My router, incase all else fails)
I removed all the entries except the .7 entry, restarted the server. Deleted all the leases, released and renewed a workstation. It initially had 192.168.1.7 as the DNS when you do a IPCONFIG/ALL. 10 sec later if you run the command again, it goes back to 192.168.1.1 which is my router. I've checked, there are no group policies affecting this, I don't have many and they all serve up drive mapping scripts.
HELP!!
Thanks

Sounds like your router is issuing DHCP?
When you do an ipconfig /all what address does it give as the DHCP server?
