Question : Large File Transfer w/ Resume + Schedule (can be Server /Client or P2P) not FTP

Dear Experts,
I'm looking a much cheaper alternative to RocketStream software (www.rocketstream.com).
My goal is to transfer backup files from 5 different computers to central server over ADSL/Cable.
The file sizes differ from 1Gb to 3Gb. I want to be able to schedule upload jobs and in case internet connection drops the software will resume the broken upload automatically. Also multi-threading and boosting features are welcomed.
I've tried different FTP solutions and found it extrimely slow and unreliable since it will not resume broken downloads but start it over for some reason.
PLEASE HELP !!!
