Question : time needed to change dns hosting companies

I currently have a domain at godaddy.  I would like to change it to hostway, because from what I can tell, hostway will host mx records going to different ips (e.g. have [email protected] go to google mail and [email protected] go to an ip x.x.x.x that not google mail.)
Anyway, does anyone know how long this will take.  Hostway says 5 to 10 business days to move the dns records from godaddy dns servers to hostway dns servers.  The domain is unlocked at godaddy to make this as easy as possible.  I am just uneasy with hostway support reps telling me that, then when 5 days have past, still nothing has changed.  Does anybody have any idea how accurate 5 days is?  Thank you.

Depending on the hosting companies, yes, it can take that long to transfer domains.  While i have not transferred a domain specifically from godaddy to hostway, i have transferred several domains in my experiences and it usually takes 3 to 5 days to process.
