Question : SMS Server based application with Java

Hi experts,

I'd like to know if anyone has any pointers to achieving the following:

We've all seen certain companies have automated SMS based applications which work something like - Send the keyword "news" to 56789 and a response is then sent by looking up a database and sending an SMS back to the user.

How dos one go about implementing a service like that? I would prefer working with java on the Server.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. Exactly.

But If you want it in your application.

Let that page makes that entry in database.
Then the application will look on database in periodic intervals. then It will process that entry.

But This will reduce the performance.

But Anyway you need webpage.

Its upto you which to follow ?

Also I am not much aware of your location and to which country you wanted to send messages.
So I can not suggest any operators.
